AP Preseason Poll
The 2007 Associated Press preseason poll is released. Class 5A state finalists Converse Judson and Pflugerville receive no votes. In Class 1A, eventual state champion Munday receives no votes.
First Touchdown
On Thursday, August 30th, in a game featuring the Katy Tigers and Klein Bearkats in a 7 PM start, Katy's Trent Hunter returns the opening kickoff for a touchdown against Klein to notch the first score of the 2007 season.
September
Only Loss On September the 7th,Austin Westlake hands eventual Class 4A state champion Lake Travis their only loss of the season by a score of 28-21.
Big Game Saturday On Saturday, September 15th, one of the most hyped high school football games in history takes place at SMU between Southlake Carroll and Miami Northwestern before a crowd of 31,896 in a game featured on ESPNU. On the same day, Odessa Permian and Euless Trinity are featured on Fox Sports. Permian mauls Trinity 30-3, but the Trojans would later get revenge and go on to a state championship.
October
Big Games
On October 26th, eventual Class 1A champion Munday remains undefeated with a 33-3 rout of Windthorst, while Odessa Permian wins 28-21 over Abilene in a battle of district 3-5A powers.
Rivas Sets Valley Rushing Record Also on October 26th,Weslaco's Mishak Rivas sets a Valley single-game rushing record against San Benito with 431 yards on 25 carries.
November
Playoff Shockers
On November 15th class 2A saw two shockers in the opening round of the playoffs as undefeated #1 Mart went down to Hamilton 43-21 and #9 Teague, whose only loss was to Mart, is upset by McGregor, 49-34.
More Playoff Shockers
On November 16th and 17th the first round playoff shockers continue as Ennis upsets the #3 Class 4A team in the state, the Waco Lions, 37-34 in a thrilling four overtime classic, while the fourth place team in district 10-5A, the Rowlett Eagles pull off a huge first round upset of the state's #3 class 5A team, the Allen Eagles, by a 37-32 margin.
December
Abilene Wins a Thriller
On December 1st at Texas Stadium, the Abilene Eagles shock Southlake Carroll 22-21. Carroll QB Riley Dodge is lost to a shoulder injury in the first half and the Dragons lose a fumble with seconds remaining as they try to set up better position for a game winning field goal.
Steroid Testing No Shows
Texas was to become the second state to conduct steroid testing (after New Jersey) at the beginning of the 2007 school year, however the program is delayed till after the high school football season.
Tigers Score Final Touchdown
On Saturday, December 22nd, Katy Tiger QB Bo Levi Mitchell throws a 40 yard touchdown pass to Terrence Avie in the 3rd quarter of the Tigers 28-7 Class 5A state championship win over Pflugerville and the season ends as it began, with a touchdown by the Tigers.

Weslaco RB Mishak Rivas had the 10th highest single season rushing total with 3,300 yards.
Burnet kicker Ross Evans moved into second place on the career field goal list with 37.
Galena Park Northshore extended their regular season win streak to 70. The all-time record is 72 (SL Carroll).
Lake Travis Junior QB Garrett Gilbert set three state records in leading the Cavaliers to a title.
